Rules
The Codenames game format revolves around strategic word association and teamwork. It is played between two teams, say, red and blue teams, each consisting of spymasters and field operatives. The spymasters provide one-word clues to guide their team members (field operatives) in identifying secret words on a grid of cards. The objective is to uncover all their team's words while avoiding the opponent's words and the assassin's words.
General Guidelines
- Each team consists of a spymaster and multiple field operatives.
- The grid of cards contains words that are secret to each team.
- Spymasters provide one-word clues and a number (related to the clue's relevance to words on the grid) to their team members.
- Field operatives try to guess the correct words based on the spymaster's clues without picking the opponent's words or the assassin's word.
- The game proceeds with alternating turns between teams until one team successfully identifies all their words or until a team picks the assassin word, resulting in an instant loss.
